LUPERCALIA: DAY OF THE WOLF
by contributing writer Tim Arnold
The recent donations to Angels In Waiting have been quite sterling and have enabled our organization to keep the wolf from the door.
Valentine's day is a day of ribald revelry. It is day when crystalline champagne flows through the soul and creates an effervescence of the spirit. On this day legions of chocolate fountains pay homage to the great prophet Hershey, and untold millions of blood-red roses form a sanguine tapestry that celebrates the color of life. It is a day when lovers and lunatics come to crave the raging irrationality and forceful strength of love. The word Valentine itself derives from the Latin Valentinus and means literally strength. Valentine's day is strong meat, and the church's attempts to gloss over this fact have been futile. From a recent historical perspective, it was also the day when a dozen hoods bumped off a dozen other hoods in The St. Valentine's Day Massacre. The result was a dozen blood-red hoods. In truth, this day was intentionally chosen to carry out this hit as a sacrifice to the entity whom gangsters and plutocrats worship as their one true, sociopathic deity.
The truth about Valentine's day is that the name is quite apocryphal. The church fabricated a story about a kindly priest named Valentinus in an attempt to expunge the original celebration, which was the Bacchanalian Lupercalia, The Day Of The Wolf. The Lupercalia was part of the mythos encompassing the origin of Rome itself. The legendary founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus, were said to have been born of the god Mars and the archetypal Vesta, the eternal virgin. Vesta feared that Romulus and Remus would be murdered, so she put them in a basket on the Tiber. The she-wolf, Reminus, found the infants and raised them. Their feral survival marked the beginning of the eternal city, Rome. The pre-spring rites of passion and catharsis came to be celebrated in honor of Romulus and Remus and the great wolf that raised them in the den of strength, the Valentinus. The Lupercalia was a prelude to the dance of spring, and it was filled with numerous rituals of blood and terror; rites that would seem incomprehensibly barbaric to the modern eye. However, they were attempting to purge their society of all the negative forces that plagued it, and such a titanic catharsis requires the invocation of The Great God Pan, god of primordial nature. This celebration was originally a week long Rite Of Spring but was later reduced to the evening of February 14th and the day of the 15th.
An element of this mythos that is particularly striking is the concept of a wolf raising human infants that had been abandoned by humanity. They had been thrown to wolves, and these wolves nurtured them. Over the ages there have been a number of fairly well-documented incidences of cast-off human children being raised by wolves. Possibly humanity can learn something about its own humanity from these wolves that would take in the defective children of humanity. In truth, the human race is tremendously indebted to these totem animals that taught our Paleolithic antecedents the art of the hunt and who showed them that passionate, primal nature was to be revered, which was the origin of the Great Lupercalia.

THE BLUE BIRD OF HAPPINESS
by contributing writer Tim Arnold
The term blue is very unique in the English language. It is both its thesis and antithesis; that is, it can be a premise and the opposite of that premise. Blue can mean the exhilaration of crystal blue skies or the angst and despair of having the blues, of felling blue and melancholy. It can refer to pornographic "blue films" or to Puritanical people, the "blue noses" who do not want people to watch these films.
In 1936 a song called "The Blue Bird Of Happiness" was recorded by Jan Peerce, an operatic tenor. The song continued to be hugely popular throughout the Great Depression and into the nineteen forties and fifties. It is a rather maudlin song by contemporary standards that speaks of searching for the mythical BluebIrd, the archetypal symbol that represents everything that is right and beautiful about the world. Not many people of the time realized that the song derived from a play written in 1908 by Maurice Metterlinck, which was called the "Bluebird" and for which Metterlinck was awarded a Nobel Prize for literature.
The scenario of the "Bluebird" is focused on an initiatory quest through a number of realms of the mind. It is a quest to perceive ultimate reality, to no longer be enslaved to subjective pseudo-reality. Children are led into different worlds of the mind's eye, and one is given the "diamond of the third eye" to press against his pineal gland so that he can perceive the reality behind the fraudulent facade of what is generally accepted as being reality. These children visit these different realms of the mind, coming to the the Land Of Memory on All Hallow's Eve, when their dead ancestors return. They journey into the Palace Of Luxury where they learn that wealth can destroy the human soul, and they venture into the Palace Of Night where it is found that death is but an illusory dream.
The most profound realm that they visit is the Palace Of The Future, which is a beatifically benevolent world encompassed by crystal. At the center of this infinitely-faceted crystal are beings who exist in a state of preconsciousness. These are the children who are waiting to incarnate on the earthly sphere. They must wait for the precise moment when incarnation must take place. While waiting to be born, they practice the arts and sciences that will be their focus when they achieve corporeal reality. On our present Earth, another crystal can impact the birth of these beings: Crystal Meth. This drug can cause their potentiality to be lost in a raging sea of birth defects, or they may horrifically incarnate as living abortions. In recent decades. crystal meth has become increasingly powerful, and there is now a crystal blue meth that can hurl these impacted infants into a blue purgatory that only the most extraordinary care can release them from.
Interestingly enough, When the CIA was created in the late late 1940s, their first operation was called Operation Bluebird, being named after the "Bluebird" play. The motto of the CIA is: You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. This clandestine organization was looking for an entryway into The Land Of Memory so that they could discover the truth, so that they could create a truth serum by using LSD and mescaline. This quest for "The Truth" gave rise to the hallucinogenic, psychedelic sixties. In their attempts to unravel the human mind, the CIA also utilized amphetamines and later methamphetamines to speed up this entry into the mind. This Operation Bluebird largely fomented the crystal blue meth, twenty-first century. Unfortunately, this phenomenon has caused large numbers of these Palace Of The Future, "Angels In Waiting" to incarnate in the wrong place, if not at the wrong time. Hopefully, the truth will eventually set them free.
The donations that Angels In Waiting has recently received have been quite marvelous, and they have enabled our organization to obtain a space in the Bavarian- styled village of Lake Arrowhead, CA where we will continue our quest for the Bluebird. Possibly, as in the play, the Bluebird has always been in our own back yard. We wish all our benefactors success in finding their our personal Bluebirds Of Happiness in the coming year.

EARLY INTERVENTIONS FOR ANGELS IN WAITING
by Jackie Peebles
Mothers provide infants the perfect environment while they are in the womb, nutrition and safety with the provision of amniotic fluid which keeps them from being damaged while their little bodies develop. The perfect elements within the womb are readily available to the infants to decrease the stressors that could damage their neurological, cognitive, and physical growth. Unfortunately, things may happen along the path to a normal delivery and some infants are born too soon. The nurses and early intervention educational specialists from the Angels in Waiting team realize that these medically fragile infant are still ready to learn, and the team brings new hope of a childhood to these infants.
Early intervention is now becoming the primary resource for creating the developmentally, and medically safe environment that is necessary to help these little ones develop in the most normal pattern as possible. Early intervention provides the educational, medical and therapeutic services to be the missing link for infants born prematurely, so that they may realize similar cognitive, neurological and physical progress as those infants that have experienced normal developmental delivery. Early interventions services though the Angels in Waiting team start as quickly as possible with these babies that have either been born too soon or abused. The combination of medical and educational expertise is the best strategy that these little ones can hope for.

APOTHECARIES FOR A BRAVE, NEW WORLD
Posted: Thursday, December 1, 2011 8:15
By Tim Arnold
The apothecaries of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were a rare breed of chemist-pharmacologists who had a wide-sweeping knowledge of medicinals and medicaments and how medical disorders could be treated with these extracts that had been derived from nature's storehouse of herbs and tonics and curative elixirs. Apothecary means storehouse, and these chemists had built a storehouse of knowledge of chemicals and potions over the centuries, having been the preeminent medical practitioners throughout the Middle Ages. Apothecaries are directly descended from the shamans of the ancient world, who used their intensive, metaphysical knowledge of the realms of the spirit in conjunction with a consummate knowledge of nature to create cures for the body, mind and spirit. Apothecaries were closely involved in the lives of the people of the towns and villages where they practiced their curative arts, and they filled the role of both chemist and physician in most of these communities. It was only in the past century that these extraordinarily knowledgeable medical practitioners have faded from memory. Their only claim to having existed lies in their phantasmal reflections in old apothecary bottles of bronze and green to be found in curio shops. They were lost in the black shadows of drug stores and corporate pharmacies. Today, virtually no one understands what the term apothecary means.
In a small shop on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, the art and science of the apothecary is being recreated. Linda West-Conforti, the founder of Nurses For Safer Access, has shown visionary insight in analyzing the conundrums and chaos of modern medicine, which she believes can only be treated through a synthesis of the current and the ancient; through the archaic healer interfacing with modern, medical technocracy. This syncretist medicine will merge the physician with the metaphysician.
Ms. West-Conforti has gained this perspicacity through decades in the nursing profession. She has witnessed the adverse effects of numerous, synthetic drugs, which require the usage of other drugs to mitigate their detrimental side effects and still other drugs to ameliorate the negative effects of the panacea drugs. This drug syndrome can trap a person on an unmerry-go-round of disease. A poignant example of synthetic drug misrepresentation can be traumatically seen in the heroin that was synthesized in the late nineteenth century from the naturally occurring morphine opiate. Heroin was named after hero or heroic because it was believed to cure numerous diseases without having the addictive qualities of morphine. The truth was, of course, that heroin was considerably more addictive than morphine, and myriad addicts were created, blindly believing that they were doing something healthy for themselves. An ultimately horrific aspect of this free-wheeling usage of heroin was the heroin abortion in which numerous, late term infants were born as heroin addicts.
The twenty-first century has witnessed the proliferation of not only the heroin addicted infant but also the methamphetamine addicted, premature infant. Ms. West-Confort's original organization, Angels In Waiting, has focused upon restoring the health of these medically fragile infants and in finding homes in which they can grow to full vitality. Angels In Waiting has relied upon grants and the magnanimity of individuals to gain the funds necessary to care for these infants who have been fated to start life as drug addicts. Reflective of the rampant physical disorders affecting Western Civilization are its synthetically-created, diseased economic systems, and this economic virulence has resulted in the evaporation of funds needed for Angels In Waiting to continue its humanitarian work. In many respects, this situation reflects the destitute children in Dickens' novel, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, who cling to the robes of The Spirit of Christmas Present. When asked if they are his, he replies that they are mankind's but that they cling to him for protection because mankind will not have them.
It is believed by Ms. West Conforti that Nurses For Safer Access will begin to supply the funds so that Angels In Waiting can continue to redeem these drug-addicted infants. NFSA offers intensely potent Amazonian herbs that can successfully treat numerous ailments and reduce the deleterious effects of synthetic pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the aboriginal American, Essiac elixir is being offered in the original decoction that has been effective in arresting cellular mutation and reducing inflammation. An extensive analysis of the client's needs is offered gratis at Nurses For Safer Access. House calls and delivery are also an integral part of the services offered. NFSA is focused upon bringing humanity back into the medical profession, just as the apothecaries of centuries past practiced humanized, individualistic medicine.
While chaotic crisis is at the center of the present medical firmament, that inferior chaos can metamorphose into a superior order. As an ancient Greek philosopher stated: Out of chaos comes a dancing star.
